I was on the wishlist for a book, and came up. I accepted the request for the book, then got a PM stating that I had to order more from her in order to get my book, that she "didn't ship singles". Is this permitted? She did end up cancelling my order, so now I'm back on the wish list, but it seems to me that if you want to be a boxer, you need to be a boxer, and if not you need to follow the way the site works.

Just wondering. Maybe I'm missing something?

I don't think that's ok for her to do.  When you sign up and post your books, you are agreeing to send books that are requested.  If PBS wanted people to be able to put conditions on their orders, they would make a way to do that.  I would contact the PBS team via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom and tell them what happened.  At the very least, that member should be stopped from doing this to others.

I don't think this is allowed - I'd contact PBS about it.

It's OK to offer or request a deal, but it doesn't seem fair to cancel just because it's a single book.

That is definitely not allowed, please send her info and the PM to the Team.

Thanks. I've sent them a note. I appreciate the advice.

Yep, absolutely report that person. While a person can express a *desire* to ship multiple books, I don't think they can repeatedly cancel orders or "blackmail" you into ordering more! (Or at least they SHOULDN'T be able to do that!)

Me too, what they said.

Nowhere have I seen a rule that says a member can require multiples for books posted FIFO.  That type of deal needs to go through the forums.

By signing up on this site, you agree to ship the books requested from you.  This member blatantly chose not to follow that part of the rules/TOS.  I'm glad you reported her.

Definitely against the rules.  Please let us know if you get a response from PBS.

The response was that they would discuss it with her, and her account is suspended. So I guess it is considered unacceptable.

Thanks for the update Sarah  :)

Sheryl made a good point  "By signing up on this site, you agree to ship the books requested from you..."  It's been awhile, but I do remember that part of becoming a member.
