Once again, Crystal Hubbard's writing talents are in FULL bloom...she crafts an intelligent, emotional, HOT & spicy romance...with an INTRIGUING mixture of martial arts, sexy intimate encounters, a variety of YUMMY foods, and a BIT of suspense throughout...with Gian's private training lessons and his UNEXPECTED love, Cinder grows from a frightened, scarred, and helpless woman into an independent defender for others and herself...I also ENJOY watching Cinder's mental & physical growth throughout this novel...she's DEFINITELY a fighter...and I'd love a follow-up story with some of the secondary cast of characters...another well-written novel.

Burn is a great book. This is my first book by Crystal Hubbard. She is a great writer and her characters are unique and interesting. This is an interracial romance. It centers around a black woman named Cinda who has moved cross country after suffering a brutal attack from her lover. Cinda seeks out a self defense instructor in the hopes that she can learns skills to protect herself. Gian Piassanti is an ex Marine and the owner of a self defense studio. Gian becomes Cinda's instructor and major sparks develop between the two. As Cinda's past comes back to haunt her, she must work with Gian to stay out of harm's way.

I am usually a fan of Crystal Hubbard but this book really dragged for me and I found myself stopping and starting this book many times.
