This story was really disappointing. I had really wanted to like it since I love reading stuff with vamps (and I have 3 other books for this series), but it's just not a good read. I had to force myself to finish because I was hoping it would get better.

The sex scenes are pretty sad. It's no wonder there's women who read this stuff thinking that they might be abnormal when there's female characters like the one in this story. I mean really, who has instantaneous orgasms? And do these characters even understand foreplay? ...not to mention seeming to get over near-rape. Just ridiculous... unless you're into that...

The humor the author used was pretty lame and I don't know why she bothers. The "Mr. Testicles" joke ran its course after a couple uses and then just became redundant afterwards.

The lead male was just too full of macho-male BS, as were many of the other "Prime" vampires. It just got annoying after awhile. As did the seriously under-developed vampire politics that were part of the story; they just didn't help the plot much at all.

The ending was also very anti-climatic. I was expecting a decent action scene but got nothing.

Overall, the story is NOT a good read for me and I won't be reading the others that I have. Perhaps others like this series, but I really tend to expect more.

Okay, so i'm aware that vampires aren't real and that books about them aren't going to be realistic. But this book just really strained my credulity. I am a huge fan of vampire romance books and I really wanted to like this one.
But a series of shots for the vampire allergies? I didn't even get through the first hundred pages.
Just terrible. Don't subject yourself to it.

This is the first book in the series. I really enjoy this series! I like the author's take on Vampire romance and how she incorporates the vampire's extra senses but keep the romantic relationship between the characters believable.

This book grabbed me right away and kept my interest all the way through. I often read these quickly just to get to the next one in the series.

Not bad at all, I borrowed this one from the library, and I'm interested in reading more from this series.
