This story was really disappointing. I had really wanted to like it since I love reading stuff with vamps (and I have 3 other books for this series), but it's just not a good read. I had to force myself to finish because I was hoping it would get better.

The sex scenes are pretty sad. It's no wonder there's women who read this stuff thinking that they might be abnormal when there's female characters like the one in this story. I mean really, who has instantaneous orgasms? And do these characters even understand foreplay? ...not to mention seeming to get over near-rape. Just ridiculous... unless you're into that...

The humor the author used was pretty lame and I don't know why she bothers. The "Mr. Testicles" joke ran its course after a couple uses and then just became redundant afterwards.

The lead male was just too full of macho-male BS, as were many of the other "Prime" vampires. It just got annoying after awhile. As did the seriously under-developed vampire politics that were part of the story; they just didn't help the plot much at all.

The ending was also very anti-climatic. I was expecting a decent action scene but got nothing.

Overall, the story is NOT a good read for me and I won't be reading the others that I have. Perhaps others like this series, but I really tend to expect more.
