I am new here and I am interested in buying credits from another member.  My question is 1) How do you know you can trust the person you are sending money to and 2) they say they will "send" the credits.  What does this mean?  How do I get credits I purchased into my account so I can use them?

Hi Kate, I think most people buy credits from someone they have gotten to know a little bit, or have at least seen around and feel comfortable with.  Others can probably pop in with who they have bought from before. :-)   The seller  will "buddy" the credits to you, which is a way to transfer credits frommember to member,  once payment is received.  Most people want Paypal, I think, although a few will take checks.  It would be a longer wait to get the credits that way, of course.

Can you tell me how that is done?  Is it something they do to make the credits show up on my account or is it something I need to do.

I have someone I want to buy credits from and she appears to have been around a long time (lots of books on shelf, sold and purchased).  I think that's reassuring enough for me as far as their honesty is concerned.  I'm just still confused as to how I get the credits.

Kate, it's something the seller does. They just go to your account page and click the 'Give Credits' button and select an amount. Really simple. If you click my nickname, you can see where the button is. It sounds like you found a trustworthy seller, so now you just need to pay them whatever amount you agreed on, and they should give you the credits as soon as they confirm you have done so.

Just remember, if they aren't on their computer at the time then you'll have to wait until they do get online and see the notice they were paid (if you're using PayPal). So, don't panic if you don't have your credits right away, as it is a manual process that the seller has to get online to complete. Usually, whenever I send a payment for credits, I'll also send the seller a PM confirming I have done so. That way, as soon as they get online, they'll know exactly who the payment was from and what it was for. Then there's no confusion.

Ok, I got it.  I just bought 10 credits.  That should hold me for a while.
