If I receive a notification that a book on my wishlist has been entered into the system, can I purchase credits before responding without losing my ability to respond? We just moved and I don't have access to any of the books I want to post in the system to get more credits.

Thanks.

You have 48hrs to accept the WL book. If you post in book bazaar you'll find someone to sell you credits pretty quickly.  If you go through paypal it won't take long.  Or you can buy them direct from PBS.

But the system will let me go get those credits before I respond to accept the book? My screen always says, "You must respond before proceeding" and I was afraid that it wouldn't let me go past to buy the credits.

I can only tell you that I have done other things within my account while that page was displayed.  I have not purchased credits from PBS, but I have gone to my shelf, gone to my PM's, sent a PM, added a book to my shelf, and etc.  So, I would say, go ahead.

Thanks. It sounds like I am good to go then. I just didn't want to risk needing credits and having a book come available and not being able to get it. But I don't want to buy credits just to have sitting either.

I think they do that to panic you into immediate action.  You Must Respond.  It said that to me this morning for a couple WL books I had posted last night and they were requested this morning. I did a few things before I accepted them.  I was hoping the other 3 I have on hold would be accepted and I hit them all at once.  I also know that I have seen people on here posting that they need to buy or borrow a credit quickly before they lose a WL book offer.

I thought they had a 5-10 minute window to do whatever before the screen went back to the account page.  It went that way for me once, but I usually say I want the book right away and don't have to come back,

If a WL book comes up and you don't have credits you can purchase credits before accepting. I think the window even says something like, would you like to purchase credits to get this book?

The YOU MUST RESPOND is just there to give you a heads up. It doesn't stop you from doing anything in your account or anywhere else on PBS. I think it's just so you can't miss it. LOL I've had WL books come up and left them for a few hours because I was low on credits and had to really decide if I really really wanted the book now or if I could go back to the end of the line. MT. TBR is really getting out of control.<G>
