Hi all,

I need help finding tha title  of a bookI read 2 years ago. It was in HB then. It is set in the 1930's ish in Denver and then down south. A woman inherits a rundown mansion from an unkown relative. Turns out that it is her grandmother. SHe, the gm, has been having an affair w/ her African American butler. When the young woman visits the mansion for the first time she sees Ezra, the white looking butler and does not believe he is black. It turns out that he may be her grand father. There is also a cook who dies in the end.And there is a gentleman's cottage where that protagonist eventually lives

This descrirtion is sketchy at best, but I am longing to read the book again. What is it called???
