I have been going to a coop in Wayne with my 5 kids and it's awesome! My kids socialize and learn from an educated teacher and feel happy. They also have a lot of friends there.Do you go to a coop? And if you do what do you like most about it?

We do.  We love the social part of it.  Any learning that goes on is a bonus.

We were in a homeschool co-op for 13 years until my youngest graduated.  Some of the many benefits we received:

Friends for my kids and myself.

Increased writing skills which was invaluable in college

My kids learning to work with a deadline

A chance to do presentations in front of people besides family

Having someone else be the heavy in regard to assignments.

These are just a few.  Running a good co-op is a lot of work. If everyone serves in some capacity it really enhances the experience.  Enjoy your time with them. It goes so fast.

My favorite part is the accountability to keep up a regular schedule on various subjects.

My youngest sis and her hubby were both homeschooled and now homeschool their 6 kids. (okay, only 4 of them, but the other 2 will join when it's their time :) ). My sis had a co-op when she was in high school, very good for her.her kids now belong to a co-op, where they have parties and field trips (but no classes, just meetings)
