I've always loved embroidery! All my daughter's little dresses were hand sewn, smocked or my favorite then... embroidered! Even when I knitted her a sweater, I embroidered over that pale pink plain knit with bright yarn flowers! I was crazy in those younger days, I guess! Then one day I purchased a plain tan canvas tote bag that just begged for decoration. So, I found this book and inspiration! But I just couldn't decide on a pattern... so I covered it with a sampler of the illustrated crewel stitches, in all colors and thickness of wool... great fun and I certainly never got bored with my work! Plus, I got lots of compliments on that original, one-of-a-kind tote when I carried it!
