Publisher's Note
From the German invasion of Poland in 1939 to the liberation of her concentration camp in 1945, the author chronicles an adolescence shaped by the horrors of the Holocaust but strengthened by the force of her own will.

Synopsis
A teenage girl recounts the suffering and persecution of her family under the Nazis, in a Polish ghetto, during deportation, and in a concentration camp.
Industry reviews
"A vivid memoir of a woman who lost her youth and family to the Nazis...What shines through is Sender's courage and strength and that of her family and friends--their love and determination to stay together. Punctuated by her own poetry, Sender tells a story that will be long remembered."

This was a really good book. It was very sad, but also carried a message of hope. We also must never let something like this happen again.
