Interesting read. Good character development and quite a cast of characters! Little hard to get into for me but well worth it.

This is the first book of T. Parker's that I had read. I could hardly put it down even for those necessities of life. It was fun having CA treated like they always do in movies. That's what movies & books are for. When I was there it was beautiful but I could never live there. Too crowded and just about too much everything. I've read his other books as soon as they are published. Off to the bookstore.

While not the best, it is a good book in that it covers 30 years of the Becker's family and others too, but primarily the Becker's. The beheading of a teenage beauty queen we lived near the Becker's is the reason for the tale. It is a family tale and a murder mystery all rolled into one. I am always drawn to California books since I'm a native. The book took a little getting used to but eventually became one I could not put down. I have the paperback copy and an e-book edition which I read at work on breaks.
