Jumps back and forth between the coastal redwoods and the sierra redwoods, kind of hard to tell which they are talking about, and I'm a native of redwood country. A good map would have helped. The author also claims that the tallest tree is north of Orick, that information is outdated (by about 20 years), the tallest trees are in Mendocino County.
