Prosecutor Kerry McGrath chances upon a plastic surgeon who just happens to "create" beautiful new faces for women. The fact that all of the beautiful "new" faces are dead ringers for each other sets the plot for this Mary Higgins Clark thriller.
Another good one by Clark!

Good book, a little bit of a surprise ending.

This is another great Mary Higgins Clark mystery. It will keep you guessing who the murderer is until the very end. When the main character has to take her daughter to a plastic surgeon after a car accident, she realizes that he seems to create the same face for all of his patients--the face of his daughter who was murdered. I did not guess who the real bad guy was til I read it near the end. It was a great book!

Mary Higgins Clark is an excellent author. A mystery with vague hints of romance, this book was a page turner that kept me in suspense to the very end.

You won't know who is guilty until the end of the book...at least you'll never be 100% sure. A good mystery.
Great story. Love Mary Higgins Clark, she is always at the top of her game.
America's Queen of suspense!
MAry Higgins Clark is the Queen of suspense and a wonderful writer, one of those you can't put the book down until your finished!
My first MHC mystery/suspense-- not a disappoinment! Still my favorite MHC. I couldn't put it down.
I take Mary Higgins Clark books with a grain of salt. They are like Nancy Drew for adults. But I love to read them because they distract me and interest me just enough without being super complicated like spy novels and such. I am very ill right now and they are a good fit with my concentration level, energy, etc. This was one of the better ones. I couldn't put it down at the end and stayed up an hour later than I wanted to last night! If you like Mary Higgins Clark, I really recommend this one.
I really like her writing and style of mystery. Just enough intrigue to keep me reading, yet not over the top on scary.
First Mary Higgins Clark I have read. Good if you like mysteries...
Mystery and suspense.....
During the whole book she had me thinking one thing and then questioning myself and finally surprises me at the very end. I love to problem solve so when the whole book is surrounded by one problem and she has you thinking that everyone is the suspect. But in actuality the very least person is the one who is the suspect. I am not much of a reader but I believe that this novel is very interesting and has me on the edge of my seat.
Interweaving fascinating characters with deeply caring staggering unpredictable blot twist.
Twists & turns...good read!
This kept me guessing until the end. A real page turner. I thought I knew who did it, but I was totally shocked. Enjoy!
Sweetheart roses - the traditional gift of lovers. Yet they had been an important clue in the murder ten years ago of strikingly beautiful Suzanne Reardon, whose husband, Skip, is now serving a life sentence for that murder.
In Let Me Call You Sweetheart, America's reigning Queen of Suspense provides a fascinating and terrifying look into the minds of people obsessed with beauty - some of whom will even kill in its name.

This book keeps moving great read.
"Let Me Call You Sweetheart" was an entertaining story. The fast-paced storytelling and likable heroines are vintage Clark, but the story is marred by an ending that manages to be both predictable and inconceivable at the same time. Not her best.
Mary Higgins Clark never fails to write an entertaining well written book that is fast paced and enjoyable.
This one is one of my favorites!
Not the best Mary Higgins Clark, but still a fun read. I definitely recommend it to her fans.
A county prosecutor, nominated for judgeship, is mystified when her injured daughter is treated by a plastic surgeon whose other patient seems familar. She soon realizes that the mysterious person is connected to a previous murder case which no one wants reopened. A good novel, nicely abridged
Like books by Mary Higgins Clark. Each different and intriguing.
Fans of Mary Higgins Clark will love this one - a pageturner and can't put down
Excellent book. A real page turner. Couldn't put it down!
A mystery with many twists and turns.
One of my favorite authors....a definite page turner....always wanting to know what is going to happen next.
Ms. Clark is a great storyteller - fun mystery.
Gotta Love Mary Higgins Clark.
This mystery kept me guessing until the last chapter. I missed the clue of the picture of the pin. Just finished it yesterday. MHC is really one of the best mystery writers today. Frances G
The latest from the Clark suspense factory has a spunky New Jersey prosecutor, Kerry McGrath, as its heroine in danger. Kerry has taken an interest in a 10-year-old murder case, in which Skip Reardon had been found guilty of slaying his beautiful wife, Suzanne, and has since been pleading his innocence from his jail cell. When Kerry's small daughter, Robin, goes to a New York plastic surgeon after a car crash, it is apparent that Dr. Smith, who was Suzanne's father, is weird. He seems to be fashioning the faces of young women to resemble his dead daughter?and it was his testimony that sent Skip to jail. Kerry's interest in the case (and her parallel interest in Skip's good-guy lawyer) may harm her chances of a judgeship, and it also draws the ominous attention of another possible suspect, James Weeks, a wealthy real-estate magnate with rumored mob connections. Then there's elegant, tasteful art burglar Jason Arnott, who had also known Suzanne.... As usual, Clark's plot, unfolded in dozens of short chapters, is convoluted, full of red herrings and finally wrapped up with a villain out of left field. The writing is crisp but colorless, characterization minimal, atmosphere nonexistent; but the cozy evocation of a deserving damsel in distress who attains a happy ending seems never to disappoint her legions of fans.
I like it, but with it being abridged version I felt I missed alot of content.
Love Mary Higgins Clark, best mystery writer around
It's a minor accident that brings prosecutor Kerry McGrath to the plastic surgeon's office with her beloved daughter, Robin. But even as the doctor assures Kerry that her daughter's scars will heal, she spies a familiar-looking beautiful woman in the waiting room and is seized by an overpowering sense of deja vu. When, on a return visit, she sees the same haunting face -- on another woman -- she has an intense flash of recognition: it's the face of Suzanne Reardon, the "Sweetheart Murder" victim, killed more than ten years ago! The case resulted in a guilty verdict and life sentence for Suzanne's husband, Skip. But for what possible reason would Dr. Smith be giving his patients the face of a dead woman?
As Kerry immerses herself in a fresh investigation, she is catapulted into the strange and ominous territory of those so obsessed with beauty they'll kill for it. Each new piece of evidence she unearths reveals a disturbing cache of questions. Not only does everyone involved want to keep the case closed, it's clear somebody will stop at nothing to keep it sealed forever. As she delves deeper she finds she's wrestling with a force so sinister that her own life -- and her daughter's -- is threatened with increasing peril....
Interweaving fascinating characters with deeply daring, staggeringly unpredictable plot twists, Mary Higgins Clark reminds us that she is, indeed, America's Queen of Suspense.

I loved this book..one of her best ever.
Enjoyable murder mystery, with many twists and turns. But true detective work and following leads brought it all home and the real murderer was found.

Another great read by Mary Higgins Clark. I truely enjoy her stories and look forward to reading each new one she writes.
having a har time letting this one go. it is a great one
I received this book from someone who had already read it. I never got around to reading it myself.
I really enjoyed MHC in high school, but I've found more suspenseful authors since then.
Great story as all of Mary Higgins Clark's are.
BEAUTY HAS A PRICE...
Kerry McGrath had only begun to work in the county prosecutor's office at the time of the infamous "Sweetheart Murder Case"--the bizarre slaying years ago of strikingly beautiful Suzanne Reardon. Now, ten years later, Kerry has gained a reputation as a smart and relentless prosecutor--so much so that her name has been given to the governor as a candidate for a new judgeship--and her new life and career are in full swing.
But Kerry's plans are turned upside down when her daughter Robin is injured in a car accident, requiring treatment from a well-known plastic surgeon. It is in his office that Kerry first encounters a beautiful face she remembers from her past but can't quite place--until she realizes that this angelic face is a troubling link to the "Sweetheart" case. When she starts asking questions, she soon discovers that everyone involved wants the case to remain closed...and will stop at nothing to keep it that way.
A terrifying look into a mind obsessed with beauty, LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART is America's Queen of Suspense at the very top of her form.
