I just came from the PO and it is crazy there!  I still have one book on my shelf that is on WL hold.  I would like to cancel and repost the book after the holidays.  Is there a way to do it?  This person has about 8 hours left on the hold, and there are more people wishing so I am assuming it will roll over.

Basically no.  There is a way to prevent it from rolling over.  I think it is to put your shelf on vacation hold before the deadline.  Then, after the deadline, you can put it on hold while you are on vacation.

I know how you feel.  I was at the PO yesterday and I swear every person in line had about 30 packages..crazy.    Like Emily said I would put your account on hold and when the book goes to roll over it should be put on hold and you can cancel it from your shelf at that point.

I ordered stamps online and plan to just use those.  For books over 13oz, this time of year, I use the PBS postage. Normally I don't  think the fee is worth it but around the Holidays it is worth the cost to be able to still earn credits adn move books out w/o standing in line.

If you put your account on vacation hold right now, before the current offeree times out, the book will go on your shelf and not be offered to the next wisher, and you can delete it from your bookshelf, and then repost after the holidays.  If the current offeree does accept it, you could still cancel and put them back at #1 on the WL line.

Oh well, I did put my account on vaction hold but the first wisher finally took it.  I wouldn't want to cancel since it isn't a huge deal.  Thanks for the info everyone.
