Hi I printed a label online at PBS then realized I had lent the book to a friend.  How can I cancel the label to get a refund of my money?  Thank you.

Sorry, but PBS postage is not refundable.

Ronda is right. Most of that money has already gone to the post office.

Which is why it's really important to make sure you have the book in hand and it's postable before you print postage.  I think there's a little warning on the first page where you can select if you want DC, postage or nothing and which label format you want to print.

The Help Center does suggest discussing a refund with the Post Office, but I've never tried it, so I don't know if they'd actually give one:

"If you cancel a transaction (or the system cancels the transaction if you did not mark the book mailed in time) after printing with postage, the postage and fees can't be refunded by PBS.  The funds are transmitted to USPS when you download the wrapper with the postage on it.  You could try taking the printed, unused wrapper to the PO and discussing this with them.    We have no mechanism to recover these funds from USPS ourselves, but individuals may be able to do so."
