I have seen Robert Schimmel's stand up comedy and think he is hysterically funny. I recently saw him on a talk show promoting his book, simultaneously learning of his bout with cancer. There are more and more people being diagnosed with cancer and it has got to be one of the most difficult challenges a person can face in a lifetime, physically and emotionally. After reading his book (in one sitting - I could not put it down), I found that the only disappointment I experienced was the fact that the book ended. His book was captivating from start to finish. Anyone who has battled cancer or has a loved one who is battling this devastating illness will no doubt benefit from his words of wisdom. He is a remarkable individual with an amazing spirit and outlook. His sense of humor which he maintained throughout his diagnoses and treatment is extraordinary and admirable.
