Loved this series about love, relationships, family, etc in a small town.
This was an enjoyable, easy read although it seemed to "borrow" an awful lot from Karon's Mitford series w/out being as well written as those books are.
This book was a joy to read. The citizens of this quaint little town are an interesting mix of different personalities and their story held my interest. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
The first in the Cape Light series! Wonderful, relaxing and carries you along with the plot. I purchased the whole series, read them from cover to cover and wished there were more!
A very cute book set in a town with a lot of personality and characters with even more personality. This is the beginning of an excellent series that I really enjoy reading. This is a perfect book to wrap up in a blanket and read from beginning to end in one sitting.
Took me almost half of the book to get into it... it was slow going. But once the story line picked up, I really enjoyed it and then couldn't put it down. Am anxious to read the rest of the series to see where Kincade takes these characters!
I enjoyed this book very much.
In the town of Cape Light, people care about each other. Mayor Emily, whos secret from the past just got to town. Jessica, Emily's sister had to give up her plans to care for their ailing mother. Reveran Ben counsels pepe in the town when he has sorrows of his own.Charlie the owner of the diner has political aspirations and all kinds of contoversy surrounding him.
The first book in a great series. The people and their problems are believable!
Inspired by the artistic vision of world-renowned landscape painter Thomas Kinkade...imbued with the light of his uplifting message. A heartwarming novel focusing on the quaint town of Cape Light, and the unique residents who call it home.
Enjoyed - good, easy and fast but entertaining.
nice light read about small town people over one summer.
The first novel in the beloved series that includes Home Song, A Gathering Place, and A New Leaf. A story about people like you and I with their personal giftedness and also their life-long baggage--interactin and building their lives together.
Nestled in New England stands the picturesque little village of Cape Light, a seaside hamlet where folks still enjoy a strong sense of community, and everybody knows everybody's business. But the many inhabitants of Cape Light have their share of hidden dreams, desires, and doubts as well. Like Mayor Emily Warwick, whose secret from the past just arrived in town, and her sister, Jessica, who has forgone her own ambitions to care for their ailing mother. Or Reverend Ben, who counsels and consoles an entire town while coming to grips with his own private sorrows, and Charlie, the owner of the local diner whose no-nonsense talk and political aspirations make him the center of controversy.
They are friends and neighbors, doers and dreamers. They are the people who laugh and love and build their lives together in the town of Cape Light -- and their stories will capture your heart.
I knew nothing about this book when I saw it at the library one day. I was looking for the first book in any series, as the one I really went in for was checked out by the time I arrived. So Im glad I can say that I had no expectations, because that leaves no room to be let down.
