An adventurous read for all you adults who've been bitten by the pirate bug! This novel will not teach you anything about the real lives of pirates. Instead, this is a celebration of the romantic idea of the pirate as rebel, gentleman, and hero. Comparable to adventures such as The Three Musketeers or The Scarlet Pimpernel, Captain Blood was made into several films including a 1935 version starring Errol Flynn. An entertaining and intelligent tale of a reluctant pirate who has his revenge, maintains his honor, and wins over the lady, all while keeping his hair perfectly coiffed!
