John Dickson Carr is one of the recognized doyens of historical mystery writing. In this 1955 mystery (this edition published in 1983) Napoleon's sentries are being murdered. His invasion of England is threatened. Briton Alan Hepbourne falls afoul of Napoleon's wicked Police chief and a beautiful French spy and ends up having to solve the mystery. A wild, action filled adventure.
