I'd never heard of this author and picked this book up at a library sale on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. While not a page turner and will not make my favorites book list, it was an enjoyable read. The characters were all true to life and the book brought the 70's back to me so clearly. I will look for more of this author's work.

A brilliant novel about a teenage girl growing up in late '70s LA. Meredith Herman is going through all the triumphs and tribulations of being a teen as well as her parent's divorce. A book that is funny, heartbreaking and sincere. I couldn't put it down and it brought back many memories of growing up in the 1970s!

I enjoyed this novel based in the late 70's. It brought back some nice memories of the music and clothes. Told from the POV of a 15 year old girl whose parents are going through a divorce.

This is a funny, painful account of a young girl growing up in Los Angeles in the late 70's. Meredith chronicles her romantic mishaps, her parents divorce and remarriages, nose jobs, popularity contests, fashion faux pas, growing pains and 70's life in general.

A book that could easily be depressing but is very funny. Written in the first person, we see Meredith describe her teen years.
