The Oxford University Press edition of several Sherlock Holmes short stories. Contains the favorite "Thor Bridge" and the tragic "The Veiled Lodger" The notes on the text are really great for an ACDphile.

From the Publisher

The last twelve stories written about Holmes and Watson, these tales reflect the disillusioned world of the 1920s in which they were written. Some of the sharpest turns of wit in English literature are contrasted by dark images of psychological tragedy, suicide, and incest in a collection of tales that have haunted generations of readers.

From me

This is the collection of the short stories that C Doyle wrote after the popular outcry for the 'death' of his character, Sherlock Holmes. The stories are uneven, but interesting each of them.

1 The Mazarin Stone 5

3 The Creeping Man 50
4 The Sussex Vampire 72
