Anyone read this? I've heard wildly varied things from "as good as the Plum series" to "the main character is crude, obnoxious and overbearing".... opinions?

I've read all of them and I think they're quite good!  I admit to being biased because Katy Munger is a local author and most of her books are set here in town, but I still think they're legitimately good.

She had taken a pretty long break from writing, but her website says the next book in the series will be out in June.   I'm looking forward to it!

Edited because the cat was helping me type.   :D

My brother's name is Casey Jones -- LOL!  I've never heard of this series but I may have to check it out due to the name.  :->

I, too,  have read all of Katy Munger's Casey Jones series, which is set in North Carolina. I thought the books were quite funny--in the same vein as Stephanie Plum. I've wondered what had become of Munger, as the last Casey Jones book came out in 2001. Now, as Dogdoc mentioned above, Munger's website suggests that she is back in the writing mode--a new Casey Jones book will be released this month. (However, I couldn't find any info about it, other than the title.)

Thanks for the feedback! I was leaning toward trying it, so I'll definitely give it a go now.

Oh, Anna, you have a point.   If Amazon doesn't have it in their system by now, it seems unlikely that we'll see it soon.  It didn't occur to me to actually go looking for it.

BookMonkey, you'll have to let us know what you think!

Yes, Cindy, isn't it strange that her website lists June 2008 as the release date; yet, I have not be able to locate an ISBN for this new book ANYWHERE? I couldn't even find it by searching the publisher's  (Thalia Press) website. (It appears to be a start-up website....) Wonder what is going on?

I've checked her website periodically over the last few years and it always seemed to be promising a new book coming, but it's never been at all specific.

You'd think that even if publication was delayed, there would be some information out there...
