An older Cat Who book, better than newer ones
Another great cozy mystery about the Siamese cat detectives. This one has Polly recovering from a heart attack ... and information about pasties. We had to try some pasties when we were in the UP on vacation.
This is a Large Print edition of the book.
I've read quite a few of this series and I like it. Even the parts that don't have to do with the murder/mystery are pretty interesting. If you've not read one by her, I would suggest doing so.
I read all the books in this light-hearted series one after another and really enjoyed them. The cat KoKo and his feline partner, Yum Yum, are endearing. Their owner is a former newspaper reporter, James Qwilleran. They live in a small town with lots of interesting residents. James can't seem to avoid murders though he sure would like to. The series ended abruptly with unresolved relationships due to the author's death at 97.
Great as always. Quilleran and his cats and Moose County and the people, all fun and entertaining. Mysteries written with clean language and good humor.
Another great tale of Koko and Yum Yum solving a mystery - I love these books and have read every one!
With the approaching Great Food Expo, there's lots of delicious activity in Moose County--restaurant openings, a cheese-tasting, etc. But there's nothing as tasty as gossip, so when a mysterious woman moves into the New Pickax Hotel, the locals indulge in speculation. And when a bomb explodes in her room, killing the hotel housekeeper, Qwilleran, Koko and YumYum have to put aside the treats and figure out who cooked up this murderous recipe.
This is a cute book a nice cozy type story
Great Mystery... Great Book!
THIS BOOK IS EXPLOSIVE. IN MEANING THE NEW PICKAX HOTEL. AN EXHUSBAND TRIES TO KILL HIS WIFE BY KILLS A NATIVE INSTEAD.
Number 19 in Lilian Jackson Braun's Cat Series. This one is just as good as the first. Can Koko and Yum Yum find out who cooked up the murderous recipe.
As with all of The Cat Who... series, this is a good story. I am reading the whole series and have enjoyed them all so far. Can't wait to find out what happens next with Qwill and his kitties.
A little bit of fun escapism, which we all need now and then.
KoKo and Yum Yum help Mr Q solve the mysteries. Not the the murder, but other things happening in town. This is a delightful series. First one that I have read, but have 2 more already. Nice easy read and enjoyable. I recommend.
"Braun gives fans what they crave"
Another great read. This series has yet to disappoint me. Koko, YumYum and Qwill are on the trail of another crime spree and this book, with all its twists and turns, ups and downs, ins and outs, is really fantastic. Great reading. Glad to hear Polly is on the mend too!
