I found it hard to stay focused on reading this book and struggled through the chapters. However, the beginning few chapters were alright.
1987 Jove Book Publication. Qwill inherits unexpected millions and has to adjust to living in an enormous mansion.
This is a great series. Its a funny light hearted mystery. You just fall in love with the town.
Love KOKO! He just gets more clever each day.
You don't have to like cats to enjoy this book. These cat mystery books are the best.
I am really getting addicted to this series of The Cat who books.
If you are a cat lover or even if you're not you will like the books
about these two siamese cats who solve crimes. They let Mr. Quill help
them since they can't talk people talk.
Another great tale of Koko and Yum Yum solving a mystery - I love these books and have read every one!
I love all of the books in this series. They are all so wonderful.
I love the "Cat Who" series. A quick read.
I read all the books in this light-hearted series one after another and really enjoyed them. The cat KoKo and his feline partner, Yum Yum, are endearing. Their owner is a former newspaper reporter, James Qwilleran. They live in a small town with lots of interesting residents. James can't seem to avoid murders though he sure would like to. The series ended abruptly with unresolved relationships due to the author's death at 97.
In this sixth book in the series, Qwill has quit his job at the Daily Fluxion and moved to Pickax (a requirement of his inheritance of millions from "Aunt Fanny"). As he is getting used to his new life and settling in the mansion, he starts investigating the mysterious disappearance of a girl named Daisy several years before. Then someone tries to kill him, putting him in the hospital with amnesia. I liked this book much better than the last one. The mystery held my interest throughout the book as each new clue revealed itself.
In this book, Qwilleran has just inherited millions. While his two Siamese cats adjust to being fat cats in an enormous mansion, he sample the life-styles of the rich and famous by hiring a staff of eccentric servants. A missing housemaid and a shocking murder soon show him the unsavory side of the upper crust.
Charming series!! A *must read* for any cat lover!
Lillian Jackson Braun opens this, her sixth cat mystery with Jim Qwilleran waking up in a hospital bed and not knowing who or where he is. It seems that he had been run off of the road by a truck as he bicycled on Ittibittiwassee Road. As he tries to regain his memory the reader is led along with him while he thinks back on events leading up to his accident. Most of these events involve the perplexing disappearance of one Daisy Mull who had been employed by Qwilleran's "Aunt Fanny." Once he is home from the hospital things begin to happen at a more rapid pace and a mystery that no one in Moose County had thought about all that much ends up bringing down some of Pickax City's leading citizens and leads to more deaths. Had Qwilleran paid attention to Koko's clues a little earlier some of this mayhem might have been avoided but the Siamese wonder can't seem to make his human friend understand. Koko finally gets so disgusted with Qwilleran that he refuses to have anything to do with him.
Jim has inherited millions. He and his 2 cats move into a mansion and soon end up wioth a missing housemaid and a shocking murder soon shows Jim the unsavory side of the upper crust. But with koko's propensity for clues , it gives jim reason to pause and evaluate the most unlikely subjects before his taste for the good life turns into his last meal!
Very nice cozy.. an easy read and a must for cat lovers.
This murder mystery happebs right after Quilleran inherits his millions. Good, as they all are.

This is actually one of the better books in the series, with the emphasis on the mystery. A good plot and excellent narration by George Guidall. Four tapes, unabridged. about 6.5 hours.

I enjoy this series. I've read some of them before, but now I am reading them all from first to last.
Inheriting unexpected millions has left reporter Jim Qwilliran looking like the cat who eat the canary. While his two cats adjust to being in an enormous mansion.
"Inheriting unexpected millions has left reporter Jim Qwilleran looking like the cat who swallowed the canary. While his two Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, adjust to being fat cats in an enormous mansion, Qwilleran samples the lifestyles of the rich and famous by hiring a staff of eccentric servants. A missing housemaid and a shocking murder show Qwilleran the unsavory side of the upper crust. But soon it's Koko's purr-fect propensity for clues amid the caviar and champagne that gives Qwilleran pause to evaluate the most unlikely suspects...before his taste for the good life turns into his last meal.
