An intersting shift today in the Amazon ranking (at least for me)

When I see your name on a review I know that you actually read the book. But I must admit I love to see just how wrong Harriet can go at times. Amazon needs to be aware that certain reviewers are hurting the credibility of the system they set up. I've seen you agonize over a less than positive review, but respect you all the more for your honest informed opinion. Your a straight shooter, I like that about you. |

Thanks for those nice words Jerelyn. Yes, Harriet is fun to watch and at times I can't resist the temptation to try a book she's raved over and compare. Have you seen her review for The Lady's Slipper? She calls is a thriller. |

I will have to go look at it, a thriller huh? (shakes head) Case in point. |

There's no way she can read that many books that quickly. How can Amazon allow her to post so many reviews? Has anyone ever asked Amazon about this? It really belittles their credibility. |

Jerelyn, you see what I mean? She is so off base of what the book is about. Donna, there isn't a rule that says you have to read the book. Personally I'm in the perhaps once upon a time it was just her but is now a big over seas consortium doing it (just look at some of the English *she* uses). She could just be a nutt crackpot, but wouldn't you think the family would stop her from being made such a laughing stock? I always chuckle at authors who still think a glowing review from Harriet is a good thing. |

I read somewheres (sorry I can't remember where) that HK is a consortium of people. It's the only thing that makes sense to me given the quantity and mixed quality of "her" reviews. Amazon doesn't care about review quality. It's just giving the public the opportunity to voice an opinion. I would think for legal reasons, too, it would take a hands-off approach to the extent possible. |

If anyone could prove she's a consortium she could be deranked (it has happened before) but still not removed from Amazon. I have been online during some of her big review dump days. Pre written or not (and they are, just check her many many blogs), they come up too damn fast for one person to be doing. You'd have to have a gazillion windows open with the review ready to click the final click to post it. |

It's funny, Cathy, but I look at the number of reviews she has written and you are just RIGHT behind her! I've noticed now that when I get on Amazon and look at reviews. if she has a highly complimentary review of a book, I seem to mentally nix it - even if it really is a good sounding book and other reviewers have raved about it! |

What good does a reviewer do when she gives really really bad books four and five stars the same way she gives very good books? And you you all know how many books she's given two stars to?
Customer Reviews ? "harriet klausner" ? Harriet Klausner

Maybe she's a crank like this guy, who bombarded IMDB with reviews of obscure silent films that he claimed he saw the only copy of blah blah blah. |
