A weird book...have read several other books by authors and like the characters, but this was just odd. It was just a little too "out there" for my taste. Unfortunately, once I start,I have to read to conclusion.

reasonably complex plot, but a bit disappointing at the end....

Liked it but it's just a mite too long, it could've been edited down to less pages and gotten rid of some of just the descriptive pages but the story is good.
If you like scary books on zombies and spookys...this is your book. Preston & Child have never written a bad book. This book will keep you turning the pages, it's a real thriller with two great characters...Pendergast & Vincent D'Agosta. At times I feel sorry for D'agosta for all the situations Pendergast get him into. It's a compelling story with great characters and action-packed. I highly recommend it.
Excellent read if you love detective/mystery/voodoo/anthropology...etc!!
These two men complement each others writing and I hope they continue writing for a long time.
Another great Pendergast episode. The topic was very different. A great read.
