I love this series about a woman that owns a catering business in a small town and keeps falling over dead bodies.

Unfortunately, some of these books are better then others.
Elk Park School does everything it can to help their students enter the collegiate world. After one student prep breakfast, Goldie Bear, caterer extraordinaire, stumbles across the body of a student in the snow. This is not just any student, the is the class valedictorian, the one that everyone knows will be accepted to the college of his choice.
The rich are different and when it comes to getting a child into a top school, there are no longer any rules and what should be a happy time in their child’s life is suddenly turned into an all out competition with no hold barred.
Goldie finds herself in the middle of the murder investigation, of course Tom Shultz is there too since he is trying to get closer to Goldie. But the investigation takes a personal turn when Arch is home alone and a rock comes flying through the front window and later someone blocks the chimney filling the house with smoke. And when that isn’t enough to warn off nosey intruders, a second body is found.
I’ll continue on with this series in hopes that they get better, but this one just couldn’t hold my interest. Hopefully, they will spark up soon.

I just can't get into this author....Her storyline is hard to follow and boring.

Davidson's book are always a fun read. In this installment, the stress of competition among the seniors at Elk Park Prep's college advisory class leads to murder and mayhem. Goldy discovers a body at her first catering job for the school and the adventure goes from there!

Enjoyed this one and especially some of the recipes throughout the book. As light reading it works, but I relly would read one of her books again only if I ran out of all other reading materials.

This one wasn't one of my favorites. The clues are there, but you have to really think about it to pick up on them. It's an okay read.

I do enjoy the Goldie novels from time to time....they aren't my favorite, but they do pass the time in between other books.

Another Goldy Bear mystery! Easy and quick reading! Entertaining!
A delectable dinner, a fresh corpse and a truly tasteless killer. It is a popular series by Diane Mott Davidson.

I think this was my favorite book in the series so far. This had me guessing till the end. I love the relationship that is developing between Goldy and Shultz (the cop). Great food, great mystery!

It's Goldie again with murder, intrigue, and doughnuts galore. But she comes to rescue and saves the day in her own "hungry for some answers" way. No one does it like Goldy! Good book.
Fun reading !!
another good book in this series. I had suspected the murderer from the start, but there were plenty of other characters along the way that tried to throw me off!
I always enjoy Ms. Mott's books. Well organized details, fun to read. This one is no exception.
Davidson's books are not particularly literate, but they're amusing -- good for when you need a light distraction. Her books are full of simple characters who interact in stereotypical and not very complex ways, and the motives of her murderers are often difficult to believe. (For example, it won't give away too much to say that the murderer in The Cereal Murders carries out the killings in the highly unrealistic hope of boosting a certain prep school student's chances of getting into an elite college.) Notwithstanding their technical weaknesses, they're good for escape reading at the beach or before bed.
Goldy Bear, the premier caterer of Aspen Meadow, Colorado is no stranger to violence or sudden death. But when she agrees to cater the first College Advisory Dinner for Seniors and Parents at the exclusive Elk Park Preparatory School, the last thing she expects to find at the end of the evening is the battered body of the school valedictorian. Who could have killed Keith Andrews and why? Goldy's hungry for some answers - and not just because she found the corpse, her 18 year old live-in helper, Julian has become a prime suspect in the Andrews boy's murder.
Another delightful book in the Goldy Schulz series.

A Culinary Mystery. Davidson is called "A cross between Mary Higgins Clark and Betty Crocker." This includes original recipes for Sugar Plum Cake, Red 'n' White Cookies, and Nachos Schulz among others. Goldy Bear is the premier caterer of Aspen Meadow, Colorado. "But when she agrees to cater the first College Advisory Dinner for Seniors and Parents at the exclusive Elk Park Preparatory School, the last thing she expects to find at the end of the evening is the battered body of the school valedictorian."
The cover for this book I'm posting matches to cover for the large print version...FYI.
Goldy can cook and solve a muder in 300 pages. Great recipes
I absolutely love this series!
Very good read. Nice mystery and recipes to boot.
Predictable, but still a good read.
Cute, didn't guess who did it for a while.
A culinary cozy more hard-boiled than some. Goldy and Co. are always entertaining.
Another good one!!

I love this author and series of culinary mysteries! She keeps you guess until the very end.
This is the 3rd book in the series.
Two of my favorite things in one book; what more can you ask for? Food and a murder mystery and the same time. I've even used some of Ms. Davidson's recipes and they are great!
#3. I really like this series, easy reading and so far they have all been good. Getting ready to start on the 4th one.
This is the 3rd Goldy Bear (Goldilocks) Culinary Mystery. These books just keep on getting better!

This is another in the Goldy Bear Shultz series. This one is set at the Elks Park Prep School where her son Arch is a student. A very good read as usual from Ms Davidson
Great murder mystery and receipes to die for! What could be better!
Goldy Bear, the premier caterer of Aspen Meadow, Is no stranger to violence - or sudden death. But it's the last thing she expects to encounter when she agrees to cater the first College Advisory Dinner for seniors and parents at the exclusive Elk Park Prep School. Sure, the competition among students is fierce, and some of the parents do act as if they'd kill to get their kid into a big-name college, but as Goldy ladles out sumptuous Early Decision Dumplings and sublime Ivy League Ice Cream Pie, the only deadly things she comes up against are snobbery and boredom...until she steps outside. There, yards from her van and half buried in the fresh Oct. snow. is the battered body of the school valedictorian, Keith Andrews, "Saint Andrew" his classmates dubbed him for his holier-than-thou attitude, but was that reason enough for murder? It's a question Goldy is determined to answer and not just becasue she found the corpse. Both her young son Arch and her eightteen-year-old live-in helper, Julian Teller, are students at the school.
Always convoluted story, but good read. Love the recipes.
3rd book in the Goldy the Caterer series - set in Elk Park, Colorado. What would ambitious students and, more important, their parents do to ensure a good senior class standing and admission to an "important" school? Great recipes included.
This is one of her early ones, but I love Diane Mott Davidson. Goldy caters a dinner at the Elk Park Prep school and finds the valedictorian dead. Her trainee, Julian is suspected of the murder.
another delightful read!
Mystery and food mix. Enjoyable book.
I love this series and the recipes all sound good

One of the early books from the "Queen of the Culinary Mystery"; includes great recipes as well as a fun mystery.
It's worth reading if only for the recipes, that will have your mouth watering. But murder and mystery again follow our Goldie once again.
I am not usually such a big fan of "cozy" mysteries, but I really like Goldy and the other characters created by Davidson. I prefer these books on audiotape, as the usual readers, Cherry Jones and Mary Gross, really bring the characters to life. In the books, you get the recipes from Goldy's catering service.
This book is #3 in the series:
Thanks to her recent adventures in Dying for Chocolate, Goldy Bear, the premier caterer of Aspen Meadow, Colorado, is no stranger to violence--or sudden death. But when she agrees to cater the first College Advisory Dinner for Seniors and Parents at the exclusive Elk Park Preparatory School, the last thing she expects to find at the end of the evening is the battered body of the school valedictorian.
Who could have killed Keith Andrews, and why? Goldy's hungry for some answers--and not just because she found the corpse. Her young son, Arch, a student at Elk Park Prep, has become a target for some not-so-funny pranks, while her eighteen-year-old live-in helper, Julian, has become a prime suspect in the Andrews boy's murder.
As her investigation intensifies, Goldy's anxiety level rises faster than homemade doughnuts. . .as she turns up evidence that suggests that Keith knew more than enough to blow the lid off some very unscholarly secrets. And then, as her search rattles one skeleton too many, Goldy learns a crucial fact: a little knowledge about a killer can be a deadly thing.
