The greatest part about this book is the illustrations. They are beautiful with so many aspects to them. Look for the message of recycling to be incorporated into every illustration. My particular favorite was a newspaper shirt. For a child that is just learning how to read, playing a little bit of search and find with the illustrations draws more interest to the book. Most of the words are simple, and the rhyme is easy to follow. The comic like dialogue bubbles all contain quick phrases that most beginning readers are able to point out. These are good for practicing sight words. Altogether, this is a fun read with a good message to encourage children to be more involved in helping others. At an age in which we are stressing that children share, it is a fun reinforcer. I'd recommend it in K classrooms, especially if you are thinking of doing a service type project.
