Hi,

For whatever reason, one of the books I posted came up attributed to a silly genre, not the right genre.  Is there any way to change genres after a book is posted?

Yes.  Add the correct genre under Edit Book Data.  This is under the More Options little pull down menu.  Looks like you can add and subtract.

Book Edits are all reviewed by volunteer members.  So there is often a delay before they take.   I add a comment about my edit, such as where I got the info, just to save the volunteers time.

ETA   The genre is vital to the search feature.  This is a very important edit to do for books on your bookshelf.

yes  Yes, what Emily has said!!!!

Changing an incorrect book genre by submitting a book edit is a VERY good thing to do!  Very helpful for all members.  If there is other missing information on the book Data Edit page, you can fill that in as well at the same time.  The Data Edit team and all PBS members will thank you for taking the time to do this!

Normally you can change the existing genre, if need be, and add one more.

The data edit approver also has an option for adding one genre, so if there's another one you want to add, leave a note in the "reason for edit" box.  If you need to add more genres, wait until the first edit has been approved and is showing, then put through another edit.
