Returning Baron Dugdale's long-lost granddaughter to Brighton seems a lark to haughty Valerian Fitzhugh until he locates the studdning if somewhat irascible Allegra Crispino in a runddown Florence pensione. Here, to his great chagrin, is no Mayfair tea rose- but a volatile beauty with blazing sapphire eyes, a theatrical tempter and garlic sausages stuffed in her bodice! A fun read!
