Gosh, this is wonderful. Easy to see why Lord Dunsany was such an influence on people like Neil Gaiman and Charles de Lindt. Beautiful, lyrical writing and subtle humor. A joy to read. Typically Victorian in its slow pacing and wordiness, requiring the modern reader to slow down a bit.
