Intrigue, danger, excitement, and romance all mix together as Rosamond and Dr. Robert Victor adventure from France towards her home in the English countryside all the while trying to evade the notice of the British military who are hunting for rebels of the English Civil War.

Rosamond, whose fiancee died fighting the Jacobites, intially hates them but she begins to see firsthand the human cost of the war and its aftermath and finds herself falling for Robert Victor, the enemy.

This book is a very good read and superbly written. Oh, and of course Roly makes a memorable appearance. :)
