Im wondering about the NERD series. they look like a fun read but I can't figure out the genre? I picked up a bunch at Goodwill and may want to start one soon. But not til next year so as to meet my 2008 reading challenge.

To me they're more funny sexy romance, Kathy. At least comparing to what I 'think' chick lit is. I love romance though and this is one of my favorite authors for a fun read. My faves are 'the nerd who loved me', 'nerd gone wild', and 'my nerdy valentine'. Some are a bit graphic in the sex but they're really funny too. I think the 'nerd who loved me' is the best though for the story and secondary characters.

I agree with Susanna - humor and romance.  I wouldn't really call them chick lit, but if you like chick lit you'll very probably like the Nerd books.

agree with not really chick lit, but light romance with a little mystery thrown in and very funny!

Same here.  My fave from the series was the one on the desert island.  Funny and sexy!

I had wondered about them but was hesitant to order as I am not familiar with them or the author.  From what you guys are saying, I think I might like them so I'll take a chance and order one.  I am holding you all accountable if I am disappointed though!  ;-)

well my #1 pick is 'the nerd who loved me'! :-) I think the desert island one Mary likes is 'nerd in shining armor'. Nerd gone wild was cute also and gone with the nerd was more a mystery/something going on type funny romance.

I just read Nerd in Shining Armor and it was a very fun read.  The characters, particularly the heroine and her mom were from "the holler" back in Tenessee and were very funny.  I have a few more on my TBR pile and am looking forward to reading them.  Like the other posters, I wouldn't classify them as chick lit, but more romance.

I don't know about the category, but I do know that the books are a hoot to read.  They're funny and light reading.
