This book focuses on love, friendship, and tough stuff along with some great teen-told tales of learning lessons, making a difference, and growing up. This book is full of teens who share their experiences on learning to accept lifed, becoming the best person you can be, being happy with who you are, and loving yourself -- no matter what. These stories will show you that no matter how difficult your situation may seem, you can make it through the tough times; and that no matter how lonely you may feel, you are never alone.

Short stories for teenages, follows the same lines as the other Chicken Soup series

The stories in this book range across the spectrum, from interesting to depressing, enlightening to laugh-out-loud. But all the stories involve on that one thing everyone needs in their lives: hope. This book is great teenagers (and adults that have to live with them) because it involves situations they have to deal with in their lives. With sections on relationships, friendship, family, learning life lessons, and making a difference, just to name a few, this uplifting book isn't a lecture on what to do. Instead, it's full of stories written by teens for teens on how to get the most out of your life.

Jack, Mark and Kimberley's latest batch focuses on love, friendship, and tough stuff, along with some great teen told stories of learning lessons, making a difference and growing up. Like in the first volume of Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, you'll find no adults preaching to you about what you should or shouldn't do. Instead, this book is full of teens who share their experiences on learning to accept life, becoming the best person you can be, being happy with who you are, and loving yourself---no matter what. These stories will show you that no matter how difficult your situation may seem, you can make it through the tough times' and that no matter how lonely you may feel, you are never alone.***I've been getting these books for my son since the first came out. He is now near 21 and they really made an impact on his life and the choices he has made and how he looks at things in general. Excellent books for teens! 10 stars from this mom/grandma

According to the introduction, overwhelming requests from readers of previous Chicken Soup editions and voluminous submissions of other teens' personal stories inspired this newest offering. No doubt, the series' New York Times best seller status and impressive library circulation were added incentives. Like many inspirational books from multiple (mostly non-professional) writers, Soul II's selections vary in quality. Some stories in each of the eight thematically organized sections are truly poignant and masterfully written. Others, though sincere, seem trite and melodramatic. Yet even the essays likely to make adult readers cringe share youthful insights that will resonate with truth for many teens. More important, in every case the editors remain true to their promise to take the teen reader on "a journey of becoming your best self." Besides the brief essays that make up the bulk of the text, poems, cartoons, and quotations add variety to the reading.

Inspirational stories for teens...I love these books. :) Some pages a little worn at the corner where I dog-eared my favorite passages to read over and over. :)
