I have 4 hardback children's Animal books that are from the series of 6 "I WONDER" books. They are written for pre-school to 8 or 9 year olds, although I did find them a little informative, myself. They have been edited by curators at museums. (See description on my bookshelf). Each book has numerous examples and colorful, interesting illustrations of the animal family of it's focus. The books are a good introduction for beginner learners of animals and animal families. It is also is good basic reference. There are also curious and fun facts given for each animal. For early readers, the writing is interesting and simple to understand.
