My son has read the Magic Tree House, Magic School Bus, Ready Freddy, and  Nate the great series. He is looking for a new series to read. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

If he likes animals, then I would recommend the Animal Ark series by Ben (I think) Baglio.  The main character is a girl, but it is about her love of animals.  Examples of titles are Kittens in the Kitchen, Puppies in the Pantry, etc....you get the gist.  So far, I like them more than the Magic Tree House series.  I haven't tried the Boxcar Children series yet, but it's next on our list!

My son really like The Roman Mysteries, The Secrets of Droon and A to Z Mysteries. He has just started his first Hardy Boys mystery and seems to like that one as well.

My daughter loves The Bailey School Kids series.  There are tons of them.  They have the same four kid characters in each book, but the plot changes.   She is currently reading Pirates Don't Wear Pink Sunglasses.  They have a bit of a mystery to them.

Chet Gecko series by Bruce Hale - hilarious and fun to read books about a 4th-grade detective who happens to be a gecko!

Geronimo Stilton series

Henry books by Beverly Cleary (Henry Huggins, Henry and Ribsy, etc.)

Ralph S. Mouse, Runaway Ralph, and The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary

I hope that helps!

My son has fallen for the "Secrets of Droon" series.  He's gobbling those up.

My 8 year old read all the Magic Tree House series and the A to Z Mysteries.  Now he's into Dragon Slayers' Academy.
