I'm looking for children's books that talk about things like evolution, ethics, death, compassion, etc. from a non-religious perspective.

My daughter just turned 2, but she has a surprisingly long attention span for books.  So even books for pre-schoolers or early elementary schoolers would be fine.

Life Story by Virginia Lee Burton!  It's an absolutely gorgeous book for children about evolution.  I remember first looking at it and loving it when I was very, very tiny.

They're not specifically atheist- but any of the Magic Schoolbus books are fantastic introductions to scientific topics- space, dinosaurs, human body, electricity, weather, ocean, all kinds of good stuff.

Another one about evolution is called The Tree of Life.  I don't remember the author though.
