Thought-provoking writing about another time and place. Opened my eyes about the persecution that happened and continues to happen in China and other countries. Definitely would recommend this one as a read!

China Cry is the true story of the love, courage, and struggles of one woman--Nora Lam--whose Christian faith leads her to make the ultimate choice between life and death.

This sweeping drama portrays the harsh reality of the repressive Communist regime. Her story spans decades and takes the reader through the invasion of China by the Japanese.

The daughter of a western educated doctor, Nora saw her comfortable upper middle class life end in 1939, when at the age of seven she was forced by the Japanese to flee her home and seek refuge. It is during this time Norma was to have the first of a number of visions of a guardian angel, appearing in the guise of an old man. This guardian angel would sustain her and advise her in her hour of need throughout her life.
