Fairly light mystery, fun to read. The main character is studying to be a CPA, which gave me hope (as a CPA) to see some inside stuff in the book. False hope. She could just as easily be studying to be an optometrist or bull rider, for all the inside stuff that we see. She also has a distressing (to her) habit of saying the wrong word when she knows perfectly well what the right word is. Some of these are funny, but I had a hard time with it at first.
All in all, however, it's a good book and worth reading. I think I will order the second in the series.
By the way, the author's real name is Eve K. Sandstrom. She has written a number of books under that name, too.
This is the first book in the Chocoholic Mysteries. It centers around a Chocolate Store in Warner Pier Michigan. A high profile lawyer is poisoned by a chocolate truffle. The neice of the owner of the Chocolate store sets out to clear her Aunt of the murder. I really enjoyed this book, and intend to read the rest of the series.
I LOVED this book! It was an easy read however, it wouldn't let you go once you started. You learn to love Lee and her aunt and find yourself guessing through it all!
Another entertaining installation from Joanna Carl and amateur sleuth, Lee McKinney. Lee moves back to Lake Michigan to work at her aunt's chocolate store after her divorce, who then promptly finds her aunt's chocolates at the heart of a death-by-chocolate murder!
This book is to die for.A rich socialite has the local chocolate shop Make chocolate miniatures of her cat. The Chocolate shops owner's niece Lee delivers them and is also working the party. The Socialite falls off the second floor into the first floor living room. Lee wonders who would murder her.Several suspects come to mind. This is a mystery until the last page that you can not put down.
Beautiful gift book.
