Contemp -  Ducan's Bride by Linda Howard    second place is Open Season by Linda Howard

Historical -  The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt    Second place is Sixteen Brides by Stephanie Grace Whitson.

I recently re-read all four of these books and loved all of them as much as the first time.   Which are your picks?

My problem is I can never pick just one.  Duncan's Bride is so good.  But so are Mackenzie's Mission and Mackenzie's Mountain and Mackezie's Pleasure by Linda Howard.  Just yesterday I had to pick up Outlaw by Elizabeth Lowell to read again.  Oh, and I love Chain Lightning by Elizabeth Lowell also.

I'm not a historical reader much so I don't have any nominees there.

I get that it is almost impossible to pick.  I just realized that I left out Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale.  Also, one of the very best.

I like Duncan's Bride as well, and I know I read Outlaw but I can't remember it at all. I'll have to find a copy and re-read it.

My all time favorite contemporaries are Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown, Paradise by Judith McNaught and Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. My more current favorites are two Kristen Ashley books Motorcycle Man and Lady Luck.

Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase is my favorite historical romance.

OK, so my point in starting this thread is to talk about books we really, really loved.  I read so much and sometimes, I feel like I am missing some great ones.  So just name the unforgettable stories or character's books........

gonna have to check out Duncan's Bride!

I can't pick - I have my fave absolute keepers and re-reads/re-skims and they're  mostly comtemporary - LInda Howard's MacKenzies- love them all but Zane is probably my fave though I really like Mara's dude too...Jayne Ann Krentz's old stuff uneasy alliance, wildest hearts, silver linings, and always forget the other title but where the guy goes to this b&b looking for his inherited paintings (max fortune)...elizabeth lowell's warrior and outlaw and tell me no lies...victoria leigh's blackthorne's woman and nght of the hawk(wish I could find these on ebook), nora roberts' the right path(oldie), born in ice and born in shame...oops forgot lynsay sands' accidental vampire! oops Zach's Law by kay hooper

historical - (let's see if I can narrow it down less LOL!) Ravished by amanda Quick! love her older stuff! out of her newer ones I liked perfect poison and burning lamp but RAvished is soooo good! even enjoyed the audio. I also have to admit to some sentimenal faves by barbara cartland - the curse of the clan, the husband hunters, and bride to a brigand

ok didn't do so well picking a fave and not sure I can!

Ok, after stalking for a little bit...lol

Its impossible for me to choose an absolute favorite too but these are at the top of the list...

After the Night by Linda Howard

Shades of Twilight by Linda Howard

The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred

Daisy's Back in Town by Rachel Gibson

Lone Rider by Lauren Bach

I rarely read historical, so forgive me for substituting a couple of my top of the list paranormals:

Lover Awakened by JR Ward

Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole
