I was very disappointed in this book. I enjoyed Chosen By a Horse, and was expecting this to be similar, a story relating to the authors life with horses especially considering the cover image. Instead we get a memoir of the authors experiences after the publication of the book.
Perhaps I would have liked the book more had I known going in that it was not about horses, but as it stands I couldn't even finish it.
I loved Susan's book Chosen by a Horse. So I thought this one would be good too. I always give books 100 pages, if I can not get into it or if the writer can not write I shut the book at 100. This time I only made it a few pages. It is all about her and how she came to writing the book I loved. Maybe there is more to the book but I could not get through the first couple of pages. I did skim through the book to see if it would get better and this was just an intro, nope. Looked to be about the same. Maybe a reviewer that was able to get through the book will be able to tell more about it. To me: I have better books to read!
Excellent writer who shares her vulnerable side in a way like no other. I was skeptical of a book that talks about how the publishing of a book changed an author's life, but this book removed all skepticism in the first chapter. I was hooked! Amazing writer with an amazing story to tell - anyone can relate to at least one part of the book - does not take a horse lover to understand as the cover may lead you to believe. Susan Richards is now one of my favorite authors....
