Two stories in one book. From the cover:
Christmas Masquerade by Debbie Macomber. Jo Marie first met Andrew in the chaos of Mardi Gras. By Christmas, he was introduced to her as someone else's finace ... Then Jo Marie found herself in Andrew's arms! Had she gone crazy?
Her dream man was going to marry another woman. Or was he? The confusion had to end - Christmas was no time for maddening masquerades!
A Gift Beyond Peace by Marua Seger - Freedom was one such gift. Erin Hennessey had always known it. FOr Mikhail Demertov, it was a precious privilege. He was newly freed from a Russian prison when he met Erin, whose efforts had earned his liberty.
How ironic that despite the Christmas season, she was afraid to give him the gift of her love. But Christmas was a time for miracles, as she was soon to learn.
Usually I love Debbie Macomber books, but this one was very hard to get thru. What a totally off the wall story line, that was for lack of a better word, stupid.
Then I attempted the 2nd story by Maura Seger, that too was torcherous. I finally gave up & never even finished that story.
Both are delightful reading for being in the spirit this time of year!
