Although it has been decades since I first read this book I enjoyed it thoroughly and kept it for many years. A classic.
This was probably the best autobiography I ever read. The writing is sweet, meandering, an old book (originally published in 1959) but not an old story. On the back of the book, I think a comment from The Sunday Times really says it, "Remains as fresh and full of joy and gratitude for youth and its sensations as when it first appeared. It sings in the memory."
