I heard this on NPR this weekend and thought it was just too funny.  Inspired by the Japanese trend of writing novels on cell phones, the people on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me came up with these classic novels as they would appear in Twitter form (140 characters or less):

The Grapes of Wrath: Times are hard. Sister breast-feeding homeless guy. I'm so outta here.

Pride and Prejudice: I hate that guy. Well, actually he's kinda hot.

Lolita: Message removed for violating terms of service.

I thought these were so funny, can anyone think of anymore?  I'm trying but not doing very well!

That is really great!  It reminds me of the Book-a-Minute list:  http://www.rinkworks.com/bookaminute/

They also have Movie-a-Minute.  www.rinkworks.com/movieaminute/

I love The Matrix one:

Keanu Reeves:  Hey everybody, look! Look at me! I'm in a movie that doesn't suck!

Audience:  GASP!

Keanu Reeves:  Yes, it's true! Not only that, despite my total lack of acting ability, I very nearly didn't suck in this movie!

Audience:  (faints)

THE END

BTW - How is Pride & Prejudice & Zombies?  I'm embarrassingly eager to read it.

ETA - http://www.holytaco.com/if-homers-odyssey-was-written-twitter  It must be a trend.

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies was awesome!  My favorite part was the first proposal scene- it was just. too. funny!  I've never said this about a book in my life, but I really hope they make a movie of it!  Or at least a BBC special....
