I love to watch clean comedian shows, but it is so hard to find one that does not curse fluently and frequently! I love Sinbad and the guy (can't think of his name) that has Korean appearance and then he opens his mouth and out comes this deep Southern accent. He works this cultural clash into his act. Are there any other family-friendly comedians out there that you can recommend?

We had one come and speak for a MOPS event, but I can't remember his name.  He was clean, but I don't know if that was just for us, or if he usually is.  I think his name was Steve something.  I'll try to remember it tomorrow when I'm not so tired, and let you know.

Mark Lowry and Dennis Swanburg are the only Christian ones that I've ever heard live.  I have heard of Anita Renfroe and Chondra Pierce.

I have seen both Lowry and Pierce few times live and they are funny with a message. I know that Lowry, Swanburg and Pierce all have dvd's out.  You might want to check your local Christian Book store.

Brain Reagan is not a Christian that I know of, but he has always been clean when I've heard him.  He does ocassionally slip the 'h' word in... he's hysterical though and I know he does have at least one dvd out - you could probably find it on Amazon.

He has this whole shtick about poptarts and the fact that there's instructions on how to eat them!  And that you have to put them in the microwave for 3 seconds!  If you have to get up, eat and haul butt (oh he says butt) in 3 seconds you might want to consider a change of lifestyle!  I can hear him say it - it's too funny.

When we had Sky Angel, it's a Christian only broadcasting network.  We'd watch Bananas comedy hour.  You can get them at your Christian Book Stores.  CPR which stands for Chris,Pete and Ringo, very funny.  Ken Davis is another one, Taylor Mason, Tim Hawkins, Bob Nelson.  By the way, laughter has been found to be good for the immune system.  Jesse Duplantis is an evangelist and he has some very funny videos out.

what ever happened to that Christian comedian from about 20 years ago... he was big, kind of long hair and told jokes as he talked about a ministry to people in Satanism? There was some kind of controversy but he was still very funny. I think I remember people discovering he never was in a Satanic cult and he lost a lot of credability. Mike something...argh...old brain...

You must watch Thou Shalt Laugh and Thou Shalt Laugh 2 (the Deuce)  I think the 2nd one is even funnier.  I especially enjoy the ventriloquist -- Taylor or Tyler Mason.  I also have Sinbad's Afros and Bellbottoms and watch it over and over and laugh every time.  :O)  I know there are a couple of ladies who travel with the Women of Faith tours also who are delightful.  Have you heard the Mom song?  They were playing it on the radio here leading up to Mother's Day.

Laughter and Blessings,

Shellie

I second Chonda Pierce and Anita Renfroe, have seen them live many times, now that they are regular guests on the Women of Faith tours. Have heard Mike Warnke and Mark Lowry. I'll have to check out some of these others that have been mentioned.

My husband has a dvd called the "Bananas Bunch". There are a variety of christian comedians, and it is really funny.

Jeff Allen is my all time favorite.

Mike Warmke was a good comedian, but his career took a major nose dive when it was reveiled that he was never into Satanism as his testimony and books claimed.  A lot of the stories about his involvment with Satanists at his shows were also bogus claims.  The man went through a huge time of confession and took himself out of the limelight.  I don't know if he ever went back to performing or not.
