I have a question about my BIR list. I went to look at it to see what I had on there. I says I have to rate some books that I've read before I can see my list. Ok, I go to do that and there are over 2,000 books I have to rate or delete off my list. So I start doing that and as I'm doing that it keeps repeating the same books over and over and over. I've been trying to work on it for about a half hour now but I'm fed up since the same books keep appearing over and over even after I've either rated them or deleted them.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix it? Thanks!

Those are probably books you have posted. I did mine the other day and it took less than half an hour (had just about 2000 on it). I deleted most of them from it because they were books I havent read.

I have posted books I haven't read but maybe I'm not making myself understood properly. The same books are being listed on there over and over and I'm talking like more then 20 times for the same one book. I know I haven't posted the same books like that. does that make sense?

Hmmmm yeah it makes sense I thought you may just be like me and take them off and repost. I had several that were repeated a lot because I did that.

I dunno about the repeats then. Maybe send a note to TPTB to see if its a glitch on your page.

I don't know if this applies to you, Ivy, but I know I tend to put multiple editions on my "books I've read" list, to try to help keep me from ordering the same book twice (not that anyone here would do that ::cough::) :-)

If it really is the same ISBN coming up time and time again then .... you might want to clear your browser cache and try again.  If that doesn't help, you might drop a note to the PBS team for investigation.

Cheers,

Catt

Thanks ladies. I'll try that. I don't repost them again and again so I'm not sure what's up.

My answer to that was to rate one each of the same titles and skip the rest.  It's okay to skip them - they just won't show up on the BIR.  It's only so you know you've read that title.  My problem was that although I recognized a title I might not have recognized my original assessment of it.  For those books I settled for a 3 stars.  Not the best way to handle it probably, but probably more fair than some of them deserved! ;D

It isn't that big of a deal to have a BIR except for you not to mistakenly order a book you've already read.  And the BIR is probably used more for PBS in recommending books for you than anyting else.

Sometimes when you click that you've read a book, you might keep adding because of the different ISBNs.  In this way you'll get several copies of the book listed, although you've only read one book.  Hope this makes sense.  Pat
