All around us kudzu lifted and fell in the breeze, sighing as if it were a living, breathing creature, a shape changer. Thanks to a full moon and a cloudless sky, we could see almost as well as if it were daytime. Which meant, of course, that we could also be seen. Our shadows were dark and sharp on the pavement.« less
