You can also order books to be sent to them. Both from your bookshelf (send a book to a friend) and from other's (sent book to another address).

You can't gift your own credits until they become members, but you can buy gift certificates in the Kiosk Credit Gift Certicates. They would have set up an account to become members before they could spend it though.
