This is one of my favorite books by GLH. I love how the title character is saved from a horrible life by relatives who only visited her for a short time when they were young children. This story brings home the point that how we live our lives matters. I've read it at least 3 times. The story never gets old. As a matter of fact, I think I'll pull it out and read it again.

This isn't the typical GLH book, although I love those, too! This is a beautiful, sweet and loving story. I highly recommend it.
