ok- must be doing something wrong- I posted this question before, about searching the club wish list w/ books that I own.  I wanted to post books that people actually wanted.  Everytime I look up a book, however, it gives me the standard "no books were found matching your criteria...." etc.

The only criteria I have is "Club Wish List" (at the top) and I've tried searching by ISBN to no avail.  Then, I tried looking for titles and the same thing happened, or it brought me to the little blurb about the book but didn't tell me if anyone was "wishing" for it.

Sorry if this is confusing, I just know I was able to do it before I can't anymore.  So frustrating!! :)

thanks for ANY help you can offer!!

It would help if you give an example. What is the ISBN of one book you are having trouble finding?

Also, you do not need to choose the club wish list search if you're going to search by ISBN. Just put the ISBN into the box at the top right of the screen, with no dashes, spaces or other punctuation. That should bring up the book details screen. If you see a line that says "Members wishing:" followed by a number, then that book is on the wish list.

When you searched by title, is the little blurb you are talking about the book listing with the image, info, etc? If the book is Wish Listed you will see a [Post This Book] button and the number of wishers under the book info. If it is not there will be an [Order This Book] button.

If you are looking at books you own, you can add them to your TBR list and there will be a W next to them if they are Wish Listed. Again you can click on the book to see the number of wishers on the book details page. The W will also show on the Books I've Read list and any books on Hold on your Bookshelf.

Add your books to your TBR Pile. It'll put a W next to the WL ones. This a good way to control postage costs.  Don't go by Title but go by Author.  Some books will be WL in some versions but available in others because people collect certain bindings, covers, large print audio etc..,

Just enter the ISBN number at the right hand top of the screen where is says "Title, author, ISBN or keyword" and the book with come up with the info of whether it is already in the system (Order this Book) or the number of wishers. It is a far more efficient way of searching when you have books in hand to see if they are wished for.

I'm not sure what you mean by "The only criteria I have is "Club Wish List" (at the top)".  Are you talking about the Search Type, at the very top of the search fields on the left?  You need to have the Search Type set to "All Books" if you're looking up a book that you're not sure is wishlisted.  If the search type is "Posted Books" - which is the default - and you enter a WL book you'll get "no books were found matching your criteria...."; if the search type is "Wish List Books" and you enter a non-WL book you'll get the same.

ETA: If you use Mary's suggestion of putting everything on your TBR, just be aware that occasionally members have posted books that have "W"s and they are not immediately requested.  Perhaps it's because the "W" still shows up when the wishers have the books on hold, I'm not really sure.
